The role of MITOMAP is to report, not to analyze, published and unpublished data on human mitochondrial DNA variation. All data is curated by hand and due to the massive volume of sequencing data being produced world wide, there is always a backlog of papers and data to be added. If you would like to fast-track inclusion of a paper and its data into MITOMAP, please email a pdf to mitocite@uci.edu. We appreciate your help. Thanks.

Effective on or before July August 31, 2010 (date has been changed), Mitomap will be relocating cross country to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia/University of Pennsylvania. Mitomap's URL, www.mitomap.org, will not change.
Hopefully this will be a seamless transition but if not, we appreciate your patience in advance.

MITOMAP Quick Reference
The rCRS has a new number in GenBank! It is now officially NC_012920. Click here for details.

A new search for point mutations is now available - click here. The info button on the search page has more information.
